When General Solid Waste has been determined as Special Waste, in other words, containing asbestos, there are still further classifications to be made. The asbestos can be either friable or non-friable, and the contamination may be chemical or mineral. Chemical classification can be achieved through total concentrate analysis, or by total concentrate analysis combined with leachate (TCLP) analysis. Once all of this has been determined, we can begin the excavation, transport and disposal accordingly.

Double wrapped in 200-micron thick plastic and zipper sealed with duct tape, or in trucks with weatherproof, automatic tarpaulins and sealed tail gates. The method of transport selected depends on a variety of factors including the quantity of soil, location of waste, and whether the asbestos contamination is friable or non-friable.
